about
Back in the early 2000's I had the pleasure of meeting the guys behind Beheaded Esquires. They were in town from Brooklyn, NY to play the Cafe Tattoo, a place my former group Hackneyed & Svelte Club was occasionally booked at. Not only did I dig the Esquires rugged NYC 70's CBGB sounds, but they were also hilarious to hang with. Over the years a few of us at MT6 Records would join them in NYC for some great misadventures. But the past 5 years I'd lost touch with them, as the Covid dark ages set in. I began to think about them a lot during the 2022 holiday season. I wasn't sure they would all be alive, given their penchant for rock and roll parties. But to my shock they contacted me right after Christmas. They were in town for a New Years Eve gig at the all new Baltimore Mudd Club For Losers and they wanted to record a new single. I phoned up John Hocus Pokus Spokus to see if his shop was open. We made a date. John and me were giddy to say the least. Sure enough they turned up, heads attached, at the garage in Glenmore. John engineered a fine session and provided excellent hospitality and everyone had a ton of laughs. The results are kinda like Will Rigby's Red Bra & Panties meets David Johansen solo.
